Muscle memory

It is not easy to do something just because you love it! You aren’t necessarily off the hook just because you have a passion for something. When you care about something you have to have the perfect mixer of effort and action.
I am beginning to notice that a lot of my accomplishments have come to fruition because of a definitive finish line. Any project or idea that I can not necessarily map out word for word, line for line, bar for bar, is harder for me to accomplish!
I believe this is when muscle memory comes into play. You are probably thinking isn’t that the problem? Your accomplishments are due to muscle memory and the efforts you know you can put in, right?
No! I want to exercise a different muscle. I want to get better at being uncomfortable. I want to work on being ok with not always having the step or knowing the right answer. That’s heavy lifting!
Too often I rely on my muscle memory to get through projects, I know I can finish! But what happens when I accomplish something I almost didn’t believe I could, relying solely on faith. I didn’t know how I’d do it, I didn’t know what resources I needed, but I did it! That’s my next goal, to build muscle memory in the unknown!
Now that might sound counterintuitive, but to me I believe there is a certain strength in running towards the unknown and tackling it head on! Your mind will know how to react, your body will follow suite, and your muscles will remember that you can accomplish anything! Just like muscle memory!
